Receiver – Warehouse Associate - Don's Appliances – Robinson Twp., PA

Shift: One primary shift available, Monday - Friday, 7:00AM to 3:00PM .

 

Don’s Appliances is a family-managed independent appliance retailer and has been voted a Top Workplace in Pittsburgh 9 years in a row. We are currently seeking a Receiver- Warehouse Associate to join our team. This is a full-time position.


The Receiver – Warehouse Associate is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording all inbound shipments of products, parts, and materials. This role ensures all goods are received in proper condition, verified against purchase orders, and organized within the warehouse according to company procedures. The Receiver plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring smooth warehouse operations, and supporting the overall supply chain process for Don’s Appliance’s.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving and Inspection

  • Unload deliveries from trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.).
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices for accuracy in quantity, type, and condition.
  • Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly to management or purchasing.
  • Tag and label all received materials properly for identification and tracking.

Inventory and Documentation

  • Record and enter received goods into the warehouse management system.
  • Maintain accurate and organized receiving records, including paperwork, electronic entries, and logs.
  • Communicate with purchasing and warehouse teams about shortages, overages, or damaged items.
  • Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Unload distributor delivery truck and properly store appliances in the warehouse. Review for any visible damages to appliance or box.
  • Un-box and completely prep scheduled appliances for installation. Review for any visible damages.
  • Load trucks properly and securely and without damage to appliances.
  • Safely unload appliances off our truck and safely add to inventory.
  • Breakdown trash and empty all recycling. Keep warehouses and parking areas clean.
  • Keep trucks cleaned out. Keep the warehouse work area free of all debris.
  • Perform related tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in warehouse and receiving operations.
  • Proven experience using Excel and Microsoft office products.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  •  Computer literacy (data entry, email, Excel).
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Required: Valid Drivers License
